Finally, a meetup for jazz musicians and jazz enthusiasts in Detroit and surrounding areas! Some other forms of music may be represented here also (classical, some blues, and some latin-based music) but this group is designed mainly for jazzers. Certain charities and/or charitable events may be represented here also, if they collaborate with some jazz group or groups.

Opera and LGBT folk -- it's a time-honored connection! The Metropolitan Opera is broadcasting high definition simulcasts of some of their most popular and interesting productions in movie theatres on Saturday afternoons throughout the year. It would be fun to attend a simulcast as a group and then head out to dinner for a spirited discussion of the performance. This could be a terrific way to meet people with common interests and make new friends.

This group is for anyone interested in jam bands. My favorite band is the Grateful Dead, so I will schedule as many Dead-related meetups as possible, but Jim and I will also schedule meetups for other jam bands and probably for more general classic rock concerts as well. We are also open to suggestions for meetups.
