Free Concert - National Gallery of Art
West Building Main Floor, West Garden Court

Beethoven: Sonatas nos. 4, 15, 24, 25, and 27
Fourth of seven concerts in Fellner's Beethoven Sonata Cycle

Fellner played last year and he's marvelous. I was in the 1st row and the fidelity of the music was truly moving. His style is similar to Vladimir Horowitz, and like Horowitz - all of Beethoven's works are in his noggen. He is currently touring the world with plans to play all of Beethoven's major piano pieces. He also has an Embassy Series recital each year and you can catch that for $100/ticket.. your call..."

in general:
Concerts at the National Gallery are open to the public, free of charge. Admittance is on a first-come, first-seated basis, beginning at one half hour before each concert. The entrance at 6th Street and Constitution Avenue NW remains open on Sunday until 6:30 p.m. Families with small children may be asked to sit in designated areas. Please note that late entry or reentry of the West Building after 6:30 p.m. is not permitted. For further information, call (202) 842-6941.

I am planning to co-host a Garden Café (light snacks and coffee) from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m with the Classical Meetup group reservations for 30 people. Two charming ladies within our group; Deborah Greenside, and Ashley Wisniewski will be at the Garden Cafe to help host the event. We will have a Meetup sign at the reserved tables. For more info on the Garden Café (location/menu) please call (202) 712-7458.

Best,
Michael

Fellner's interpretation of Sonata # 27 was magical. (I will get his notes translated). It's also remarkable to note that Beethoven was stone deaf for 13 years when he wrote this piece. Yet another magical story that surrounds the giants of Classical music. A special thanks to Ashley, Debbie, and Cathy for their great organizational effort. My hats off to you ladies!! I could never done it without you!
