We are delighted to announce a joint event with the Chamber Music Meetup! We will attend together the Festival Chamber Music's exciting upcoming performance at the newly restored Merkin Concert Hall. Festival Chamber Music comprises some of the very finest chamber musicians in New York and aims to present chamber music in a warm and friendly environment. Unlike other concerts we've attended, the artists will speak briefly about the pieces and the performance will be followed by a champagne reception with the artists themselves! This will be a great opportunity not only to meet the musicians, but fellow meetup members.

The program is as follows:

Mozart String Quartet in D Major K 155
Shostakovich Piano Quintet, Op. 57
Brahms Quintet in F Major, Op. 88 for 2 Violins, 2 Violas and Cello

David Oei, Piano
Theodore Arm, Violin
Eriko Sato, Violin
Ira Weller, Viola
Richard O'Neill, Viola
Ruth Sommers, cello

Festival Chamber Music has graciously reserved for us a block of seats in Rows A, B and M at the special price of $10 a ticket. This includes the concert and post-concert reception. The tickets are reserved until one week prior to the concert. Accordingly, please buy your ticket by Thursday, March 27, 2008 in order to be seated with members of the groups.

Tickets can be purchased by calling Festival Chamber Music at 212-678-6970. Be sure to let the organization know that you are a member of the Classical Music Meetup group so that you will be sure to get the special $10 discount ticket price.

While you can still purchase tickets after March 27, 2008, you may not be seated with the group. You will, however, be seated as close to the group as possible, depending upon availability.

We hope you can join us and our Chamber Music Meetup friends for this very special event!!!!

Best,
Mary

I belong to the chamber music meetup as well, so I'll have two leaders and double membership for this concert. Double the pleasure, I assume.
