Jessica Rawls Fundraiser June 1st, 2008

Jessica Rawls is a twenty-one year old Washingtonian from southeast DC.
She has been selected to represent the District of Columbia at the Opera Institute of Rome Festival this summer and needs financial help to make the trip. Ms Rawls is a mezzo soprano and has been chosen to perform three lead roles in Mozart?s Die Zauberflote at the festival. She will play the Third Lady, Third Spirit and a priest of the Temple of Sarastro throughout the thirty-day festival, June 21?July 21, 2008.
A fundraising event is being planned to raise the funds needed to send this hard working young African-American woman to the festival in Rome with everything she needs to compete with the other opera singers. Jessica will be performing live at the fundraiser.
