Do you listen to the same stuff all the time? Are you bored with what's on your portable? Looking for new music but not sure where to look?

Come to the first ever Bring Your Own Music event!

  • Bring any kind of portable player with at least three tracks of music.
  • We will pair up, exchange our devices, and listen to each other's music.
  • You will either be holding your portable or sitting across from the person who has it at all times.
  • We will listen for a few minutes at a time, then switch, so you will get to hear lots of music.
  • There will be plenty of time in between rounds for eating, drinking, and talking.

The event will take place at a café in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. Parking is not difficult in Potrero Hill. The area is safe and it has convenient access to highways 101 and 280. San Francisco mass transit lines also serve this neighborhood. I will help as best I can coordinating car pools for East Bay and South Bay members. If anyone within the City needs to carpool, I will organize that.

  • Bring at least three tracks of music, at least two of them classical (broadly defined).
  • Bring stuff that you like
  • Write down the music so others will know where to buy it if they wish
  • Any device will work: iPod, a non-iPod portable, a laptop computer with a CD drive, a "boom box", or a portable CD player.
  • Bring your own headphones or earbuds. For hygenic reasons, we will not share earphones

Who attended?

    •  I had a lovely time. I enjoyed the company and the music I listened to.
    •  A really diverse set of musical interests. I heard several things that I didn't know existed. I will definitely organize another one of these later this summer.
